Sio2sd: best ATR/XEX files

Recommended Posts

Recently acquired a 130xe after losing my original about 15 years ago.

Also bought a SIO2SD. Interesting device with a lot of promise after I stumbled my way through how to use it (alas, a lot of old, misleading or just flat-out wrong directions out there).

But I am having trouble finding working ATR and XEX files, often for common games. Took a lot of hunting to find a working Alley Cat or a SCRAM that was converted from cassette to disk image, but why can't I find a working Donkey Kong, Qix or Karateka? I must have tried 20 versions of DK and not a one worked (admittedly, also tried some ROM and CAR files, which I have since realized was daft of me).

The primary sources I have used are AtariMania, Mushca's page and the torrent posted here.

[facepalm]

Yep, it was me not holding down option. I knew I had to for some games (Yoomp, Jumpman come to mind) but, since I didn't for many of the files I have downloaded, I did not think to try it for the ones that weren't working. Funny, I was even able to piece together a half-assed way of saving my progress in Hitchhiker's Guide and yet still couldn't figure out such a simple thing.

Thanks for the advice and much gratitude for the file collection.
