So an internet friend of mine had a suggestion for something to add in the ending. I was hesitant to try to add anything new into the game, but I was able to appease him. The game is now 1,806 bytes long. And I think it's finished. Nice Ice was bigger, I barely had enough room. As for making a 4k game, the largest Odyssey 2 games were 16k, so it can be done. I once tried making an 8k game, but I failed miserably (Super Giuseppe). I did make a 4k game, but all I did was add a few changes to each 2k file and then merged them. The two .a48 files were practically the same. That was in Plumber (a Mario Bros. clone that never got published.) The reason I make 2k games is, basically, I only have simple enough ideas that only need 2k. I have found though, that the Odyssey 2 is capable of doing more with 2k than the Atari 2600. I guess it's because I know more and have spent more time with Odyssey 2 assembly. I have written some text and designed a manual for the game. I really like what I did with the game, I was able to add all the stuff I wanted to do in it. I was having a problem with the game last night, though, but it turned out I forgot to "erase" a character. Apparently the blank character (0c) acts like a normal character and messes stuff up if overlapped by another character, even though there's nothing on the screen. Which seems like it shouldn't, but does anyway. What does seem remarkable is that it only took me a few weeks to do. I guess that's the upside of having no life: being able to make Odyssey 2 games quickly?
