It is great to see we are now more united than ever and have mostly put all this mess behind us.

As I said, just don't feed the troll with content and he will go away eventually.

Oh there you go again.... 'United' is trademarked, better pay em or they'll beat the crap out of you....

You know... As I'm sitting here with my family in New York City seeing shows and having such a good time, I think back to all of this stupid, pointless, insignificant drama and the only thing that comes to mind is...

FUCK THIS!!!

JF is right. This is what the community has been doing for years. So here's what I'm going to do...

- I'm going to post whatever the hell I want to on my Facebook fan page. I don't give a damn what Coleco or Chris Cardillo says.

- I'm going to promote whatever homebrew games I want to on that page regardless of what Coleco or Chris Cardillo says.

- Hell, I may very well do an awesome feature on as many porn games as I want as long as I don't violate Facebooks ToS because I don't give a damn about what Coleco or Chris Cardillo says.

I'm in this for fun, not his stupid drama that he clearly thrives off of.

So dear Coleco and Chris Cardillo - You all can kindly fuck right off because I've had enough of this. I'm going to go back to having a good time with the retrogaming community and I don't give two shits what you, your joke of a company or your bullshit "style guide" might say which I would politely ask that when you're done writing it, you shove it as far up your ass as you can get it.

Are we clear?

Let's all go have some fun, shall we?

But I made all this popcorn ;(

Coleco once again taking credit for a game that isn't theirs by saying that they're "officially releasing" the game. Cardillo's brother from another mother - Fred - apparently thinks everybody at AtariAge is an idiot. It's comical seeing those morons continuing to damage the Coleco brand.

Can we try to simmer down on the drama and level up on the fun? Of course Fred, Coleco and Cardillo are going to continue to say stupid crap. That's what they are good at. Let's just ignore it and move on. Forget they exist because no one needs them to have a good time playing ColecoVision.

Don't ignore it. Correct them every single time. Just don't let them ruin your day.

They have shown that they are completely tone deaf so it is pointless us, or other CV fans, correcting them. They already know we know it is a blatant lie. They don't care as they are targeting this nonsense at those who are not in the know. The only one with any weight to getting them to correct this is CollectorVision and so I believe it is up to them to decide what to do.

Agree. That is CollectorVision's best interest to correct that. If they don't want, so be it. That is their product.

You should have fun correcting them,

1/2 the time you should pretend they are the real Coleco and you should blame them for the errors of old Coleco such as Cabbage patch dolls eating little girls hair, poor quality control standards especially with the Adam computers and stiffing white collar workers and stakeholders

Also the fact that the system technically had official release's of pornographic games because others were using the Brand between old and RBW Coleco

I'm not sure what good it will do to continue dragging out the drama and pointing out every stupid thing Cardillo or Coleco does. Perhaps wait until some significant new development comes up?

Just a suggestion...

Holy. Effing. Crap. :-o

I have seen blurbs on TPR's FB page about something going down between "Coleco" and his fan page. I finally had some time to read through this rollercoaster of a thread.

Woof.

The CV was my 1st console, inherited from my older sister when she got bored of video games. I was only 5 when I took control of the family collection of games, and I still have the console and all the games (and many more added later) today. It was my gateway into the video game addiction... err... hobby, and I still hold it very near and dear to my heart.

But you know what? It's a long-dead console. Coleco as we know it is also long-dead. It's never coming back.

Homebrew guys, in my opinion, have helped keep the flame burning for these old consoles we love, and I can't thank them enough. I believe a lot of the reason why the plug-and-play consoles like the Atari, Intellivision, and even the Colecovision Flashbacks were even released is due to the hobbyists keeping that flame lit. In fact, unreleased and HOMEBREW titles actually made it onto some of those plug-and-play consoles. That's so freaking cool! And with today's social media platforms, these hobbyists are able to share their hobby with the entire world at the speed of an electron. On top of that, there are fan pages and sites that us other, less-talented schlubs can talk about our beloved childhood consoles with other people. It's a great time to be a video game enthusiast, right?

Then, this Cardillo guy shows up.

Dude, I get it. You bought a piece of a brand and you want to capitalize on nostalgia. I don't blame you. Look what Nintendo just did with the NES Classic. Let me tell you something though: That's never going to happen with a ColecoVision-branded device. While it was a cool console, and it was great in its time, it's nowhere near the nostalgia juggernaut that the NES or even the 2600 was. It came out at an unfortunate time, and while enthusiasts don't think so, the common man with nostalgia for 1982 is not going to stand out in line at 3AM outside a Best Buy in the cold to get ANYTHING that has to do with it. The common man doesn't care.

Do you know who DOES care? The enthusiasts you are fighting. You are tossing crap against a wall to see what sticks. Stop it, because you are only stinking up the joint. Throwing false accusations of illegality at FANS AND HOBBYISTS is definitely NOT a way to win anyone over the the market you cater to. Like it or not: hobbyists and enthusiasts would make up the majority of your market, and you have successfully alienated many of them using various venues of communication, like this forum. You could have done yourself a huge favor days ago by quitting while you were ahead, but you're probably way past that now. Bad business decision, bro. This kind of thing never ends well, sorry to break it to you.

To TPR: I dig your page! I have been a fan for a while know. I don't think you did anything wrong, and you deserve an apology.

To the Homebrew guys: Keep that flame lit. Do whatever you have to do, but keep it lit. After the nostalgia dies in popular culture, there will be people (like me!) still clamoring for new titles for these dead systems. And to the guys developing new hardware... I can't wait to see what you have. My ColecoVision is getting up there in age, and is getting finicky. :P

The reason that i talk to Fred on OCCASION is because he helps me with learning engineering and has helped me with repairing arcade machines.

You know what Chris? If Doctor Josef Mengele was still alive, I could probably have him as my primary care physician. I could go to him when I'm not feeling well, when I find a lump where it doesn't belong, when I want to have a physical done...you get the gist.

But you know what Chris? I wouldn't have Doctor Josef Mengele as my primary care physician, and do you know why that is Chris?

Because Doctor Josef Mengele was a dick Chris, a big, freaking dick. He did bad things Chris, really bad things. Probably not a good idea for me to be anywhere near him.

You want to know why its probably not a good idea to be anywhere near him Chris? Because people tend to judge you by the company you keep. That's why Chris.

And if you haven't learned this yet in life, well, I can't freakin' teach you. I've already got two kids of my own. And yes, they already know about minding the company they keep.

If you haven't put the puzzle pieces together and realized why a certain person sought you out when they did well, again, I'm not here to teach you.

Its not always about treating others as they treat you: its about how they treat others as well. Again, company you keep.

Part of his plan. It is intentional.

Sharpen the pitchforks boys!
