supavgx
Hello AA a new member here and first post and I just wanted to share my first ever 7800 console I found at a thrift shop for $3.99 with ac adapter a game and 2 controllers late last year. Ive been learning a lot on this site and turns out I have one of the early El Paso models serial number 008072. Now I'm hoping to fully mod and restore to enjoy its library of which Ive yet dive into. I just recently got the longhorn engineer av/svideo mod(one of the last boards before he sold out) I got the board bare and I've been adding the component to it. it is still missing 3 capacitors and the male to male 14 pin header all of which I cant find anywhere. Just for good measure I will be changing out the 7800's board capacitors (2200mfd & 2x 220mfd) and the 7805 voltage regulator. Im still debating to change out the power LED and Ive already changed the 4 tactile buttons since I've heard they are known for going out. Once all that is done Ill look into a flashcart for the system if such thing exists. I also wanted to change the top metal label, but best electronics sold out so I guess thats out of the question. I will how ever be adding a European Os upgrade kit. Is there anything else I would do to the system or any specific controller I should grab to fully enjoy the gaming experience? Ive heard of modded genesis controllers and I have extra so I might look at the pin out and give it a go. SIO2
You got a sweet deal there! Thanks for sharing the pix. Maybe you will get lucky and find a cuttle cart 2 for $1.99 at that thrift. If so, be sure to also pick up a lottery ticket cause you are on a roll! I don't think there is a one cart does all flash cart solution on the market today but, maybe someday soon. Otherwise you can get a Harmony cart for 2600 games and a Mateos programmable multicart for 7800 games. +groundtrooper
CC1 is now available...eBay Auction -- Item Number: 302313918869 I have a "Cuttle Cart" saved search on ebay. This one came up about a week ago. CC whether a I or a II don't come up very often, and like my meme stated above they never sell below reg retail price they are usually easily 1.5 to 2x or more than they usually cost. #crazy #aftermarket
+sramirez2008
Wow, that really is crazy! At this point in time, I'd only want one as a collectors item, so I guess I'll never get one.
+groundtrooper
I have a Harmony Encore so I have no need for a CC1. If I could find a CC2 on a steal I would get one since the Concerto is still so far away.
edladdin
We produce a line of arcade controllers that are available through the AtariAge store. Enclosures are large and heavy so your can keep that light arcade touch on the sticks and buttons. Almost everything is customizable at no extra charge. We also make a simple adapter that allows use of Sega Genesis controllers with the Atari 7800. https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_list&c=29 We also have a ton of photos on the Facebook page.

I highly recommend the Edladdin Supreme 78 All-Play 4/8. I own #17 and it is the best controller I own. It is the ultimate joystick for the 2600/7800. Especially if you are a maze game fan. The ability of this stick to switch between 4 and 8 directions will definitely make all your games more enjoyable and improve your scores* (*Your mileage may vary)

shear_xear
The Savers where I am have all the video game stuff priced through the roof (above eBay many times). Wish it were like like that here!
