My 11 year old and I have been playing the budget series games this weekend. We enjoyed them all and ranked them in order of our favorites.

Which ones do you like the best?

So which one do we start with as #1?  Shmup, or Frostbite?

Shump is #1 and we moved across. Frostbite isn't bad but we both enjoy the Atari version more. Kaboom is low on the list because we enjoy playing it with paddles much more.

Did you try it with the Roller Controller?

No. That's a good idea although I can't imagine that it would be as smooth as the paddles. Kaboom for the Atari 2600 is simple but works so well with paddles it's amazing.

From personal experience, I can say that the Roller Controller works surprisingly well with Kaboom. :)

These games look great! Was checking them out a few weeks ago on Pixleboy's site. Even listed as a budget series, I think I'll go broke if I buy up all the games I want. Need to win the lottery or something.

Many of them are simple but they are a lot of fun. We had a good time playing and ranking them. I'm sure they'll get more use.
