Shinto
- An apologist who desperately wants to believe, defending AtariBox and implying that The Register did it for money or attention.

racerx
If nothing else, I've learned that Backerkit's prognosticating algorithm isn't worth a crap. Every single day, it seems to think the campaign is just a day away from exploding into new orders.
PlaysWithWolves
I'd swear this was parody if it was written by just about anyone else. So, he's admitting Atari have "no hardware, no software, no games, no developers" but we should throw money at them anyway? Is that how a venture capitalist would do it? What Would Shark Tank Do?

The Mr. Video
Oh, and this Public Service Announcement ... Steam has Atari Vault on sale for a whopping $3.39. I did the math and concluded that the current price for Atari Vault is worth around 3 Taco Bell crunchy tacos.

PlaysWithWolves
Meanwhile, over at NintendoLife: Atari Comes Under Fire For Seemingly Knowing Very Little About Its Crowdfunded VCS Console Partly about the Register article, but they also "aren't so sure" about $3,000,000 being enough to do everything needed. Fraggin' haters and trolls.

8Bitjunkie
To be able to comment at the campaign and see any backer-only updates? Oh, that's a very good point. Maybe i should invest $1 for lots of fun for the next 2-3 years

godslabrat
Rapidly losing backers at the tail end of the campaign? That sounds so familiar....
jaybird3rd
The "runaway success" of their campaign is about the only positive PR they've got left, and losing backers doesn't fit the narrative. I think they should cancel the campaign ... to make it even better!

Flojomojo
Rapidly losing backers at the tail end of the campaign? That sounds so familiar....Not rapid enough, but there's still one week left. So, will they continue their radio silence, disappointing those who want to play games on this not-a-box? Or will they try to explain themselves, and stick their foot further down their throat then they already have, generating more embarrassing press, but giving them (negative) attention and riling up the faithful defenders? Double points if they go on the offensive? Or will they announce some rad new (to them) game that will blow our balls off, like Minecraft or Terraria? Or maybe they'll just jack up the price again and throw in a lifetime membership to their web portal or flash games or something, only for Elite Premier backers? Or will they fold, saying that the world isn't yet ready for their awesome things which totally existed and we should be sad we're missing out?
