ADAM Network Interface Discussion

Hey guys, There's a discussion happening on the Facebook Coleco Adam group page, about an interface that could hook up through ADAMNet and allow multiple ADAMs to communicate together.

Letting everybody know in case there are some hardware and software engineers who want to jump in and discuss.

Howard Eglowstein has chimed in, and seems to think that a simple star topology built around a high speed octal UART might be an interesting approach, tied to the I/O pins of say a low cost ARM CPU (Pi Zero anyone?), and I can see where he's going...basically a simple box with 8 adamnet ports, that eight ADAMs would plug into, and I would think be able to be cascaded to another hub.

The problem is, I'm a software engineer, not a hardware engineer, so I'd need to bone up on a LOT of background to be able to build something like this, but CONCEPTUALLY, this seems to be a very doable device, that would be VERY interesting to show off e.g. at maker conferences or vintage gaming shows.

Thoughts?

Aside from the "That's Cool" and "Wow" factor of seeing a Network made up of ADAM Computers, what further benefits of such a device could be discussed that could perk the interests of a hardware developer?

Best bet is to send Adamcon a PM on here to discuss things further seeing as his son is the the resident Adam Hardware Guru.
