Hey ^_^

I couldn't find much about this online other than one website that didn't explain anything. I know some things about the Crystalware House of Usher, however I do not know anything about the Sumer 4000 BC game. Does anyone have an idea about this?

but an original image from the disks is indeed needed (the dump needs to be verified) and photos of whatever you can find related will make you a Hero!

Sumer 4000 B.C. Here is some related discussion, but he closest mention to this game is Warren's World for 8-bit.

There is a game called "Civilization" by Sid Meier that begins in 4000 B.C. from 1991..

Found a few of links to a TRS 80 version, several dead seller links where it was going for about $1000.00.

  • 1 year later...

I was lucky enough to play Sumer for TRS-80. A very well developed game for the time. It was done in BASIC and had something between 1000 and 3000 lines of code.

There was a table with the resources you managed like iron, gold, food, and you had to make sure there was not enough food for your people, or too much food so that not many foreigners would come, since you needed to keep your kingdom for 10 years. ten cycles of play). There were wars and invasions, armies and mercenaries, priests, gods and offerings to them.
It really was built on the "Hammurabi", but its interface is more user-friendly and it has some possibilities that I consider more elaborate.

I think the game Hammurabi was originally called Sumer in the late 60's. It must have been the first strategy game ever and Sumer of the 80's (running on apple, TRS and others) is his direct descendant.

One of my personal projects is to develop Sumer / TRS 80 game in javascript or similar to immortalize its logic so simple and so fun. It was a game that marked my teenage years. Unfortunately, I do not remember so many details of it and I do not have the source code anymore. I was glad to know that you have saved this relic. congratulations !
(translated by google, forgive laziness)
