Boulder Dash(TM) - Programmer Correspondence

Thomas Jentzsch and I have email records of our correspondence during the development of Boulder Dash. Well actually, Thomas does - mine are buried somewhere. Maybe. I'm sure most of it is mundane, but we're both willing to publish the correspondence if there's sufficient interest. The emails cover our disagreements and triumphs and show the on-again, off-again nature of the development of the game. It might give some insight into how much work went into development, and the issues we encountered along the way. It would certainly resolve questions about why stuff was done and by whom. Most of them would be really boring - some would be interesting. I thought I'd see if there's much interest from the community - so I've setup a poll. I'm only interested in doing this if there's a lot of positive response. If the poll ends up with at least 100 respondents and (say) the yes votes are at least 90% then i'll make the effort to collate 10 years of emails and make them public.

To provide some numbers: I have maybe up to 1,000 Boulder Dash related mails received from Andrew and probably about the same amount sent by me.

I have no reason to distrust either of you. Whatever info you provide on the subject is gospel as far as I am concerned. I haven't time nor inclination to rummage through 1K+ emails when you can give me the digest version in a few short paragraphs.

I waited - for years - for this game to come out. I 'think' it would be interesting to 'see the background' of the development of the game.

 

That being said - I DO NOT want to see others second guessing the decisions that Andrew / Thomas / FSS made. This is history and can't be changed
