DGS-Atari
I'm not sure if anyone has posted this before (I did check as much as I could), but a little while ago, being the nerd that I am, I created an mp3 file for my own amusement of the Atari tape load music that they used on such things as European Countries & Capitals. I always used to hum along to that, and it was a good way to impress your friends who thought the computer was generating the music! I suspect this is just library music that Atari licensed back in the day, and I'm not sure about who owns any copyright on this, but here's the mp3 file anyway for anyone who's feeling nostalgic! baktra
This is nice. There is still audible cross talk between the tracks, but maybe that's the best we can do. By the way, how was this digitized? Did you play back the cassette in a stereo or tape deck, digitized left channel and duplicated the left channel in the resulting MP3? I am asking this, because the MP3 is a stereo one, but the music was recorded only in the left channel of the cassette (right channel held the data). Mclaneinc
By the sound and style of the music I'd say its done by a guy called Meco Monardo, very popular disco music make whose greatest known hit was The Theme From Star Wars in 77, got lots of air play. And I'd hazard a guess that the guy on the bass is Marcus Miller who worked as a session musician then before becoming a leading Jazz and funk writer player and tourer. I might be wrong but the styles are so similar in style and sound I'd put money on it.

Somebody had done a YouTube video of loading the whole tape into a real Atari, so I just downloaded the video and isolated out the music and exported it as mp3!
baktra
Combine it with this procedure and you can have that music on your own tapes with Atari software.

It really would be nice if someone could digitize just left track of any of these tapes. Someone who has the tape on hand, of course. Sikor
Hmm, "Polskie Logo" (Polish Logo - polonized Atari Logo) was published on tape in Poland (if i remember - in 1987 or 1988) and it has Marek Biliński (polish electronical music composer) music on second channel. DGS-Atari
Not strictly tape load music, but sort-of related so I'll put this in here to avoid starting a new topic. I always liked some of the music in Atari games, so I thought it would be nice to make mp3 files of some of them, so at least you can listen to them while on the move and such like. Saves having to carry an Atari around with you, or at least an emulator! Anyway, I've started with one to try, the music from JW Darts, also known as the intro music to 'The Big Demo'. DGS-Atari
What tool did you use to convert the music to MP3. Was that the asapconv tool? No, I used Atari800WinPlus to export to video with sound, then dropped the avi file into Audacity to edit it and output to mp3.
