Converting 220V STe and Mega STE's

Recommended Posts

I have several PAL, 220V STe's and Mega STe's that I'd like to put into use in the US.

Would a conversion leave me with the equivalent of a US machine or would there still be issues?

What would I need to do?

Can I simply swap in 110V power supplies for electrical functioning, and US English ROM's to make them 60HZ? (I'll be using monitors via Best's multisync cable, RF and composite output is a non factor).

What about the keyboards? I have machine with UK and German keyboards. Will they work properly with US ROMs?

Thanks for any advice.

PSU: Swap a US PSU or use a Pico DC-DC + AC adapter

TOS: Swap a US/English ROM (or use SELTOS to load a US/English ROM image)

Keyboards will work, but will now be in a US QWERTY configuration. You can swap most key caps around to optimize compatibility. If you must have 100% keyboard compatibility, you will need a US QWERTY keyboard.

That's it! I have a few like this and they work great on an RGB or 15kHz LCD monitor.
