OT - new Firmware emerges for GoTek floppy emulators

It definitely does, myself and a few others are using it.

Interesting - this is more than just a new firmware... it's fully open source including the bootloader. The notes suggest it's compatible with the HxC to at least some extent, but also looks like it's for ADF and HFE Amiga images right now.

Still... maybe we can hack it up to read our standard floppy images... it would be nice to not need to convert. ;) It's worth looking at!

The developer told me on his FB posting in Commodore Amiga group that he is going to be supporting index mode and the LCD mod as well. I think the overwhelming positive response over this is as exciting to him as it is for the community. And being Open Sourced fully, well, why state the obvious that you already did - opens up new possibilities for us as you stated.

I did this very same mod and it works great. My next mod is going to be the rotary switcher. Turn the dial to browse through images and push the button to select. Been a bit busy with the rest of life but with winter on my heals, I'm sure to settle in and square up a bunch of projects including this one. I put OTY cause it's not for my TI. I already have an Hxc GoTek flashed drive on my PEB. This one is for mi Amiga.

Nice lcd, got a source? I bought a few that seem too large..

These were the ones I picked up (IIC) https://www.ebay.com/itm/0-91-IIC-I2C-Serial-SPI-OLED-LCD-Display-128x32-3-3V-5V-AVR-PIC-STM32-Arduino/311975731856

Note - there's some discussion on EAB about some OLEDs apparently requiring a startup delay in the FF CFG file, mine appear to be one of them.

So, does one need the original Intellivision to use this ? How does it work, say if I just want to hook it up to a computer - it will allow me to play all my Intellivision games ?

Not sure of your question? The Gotek and other floppy emulators, do just that, they emulate an floppy disk drive and store(read and write) generally to a disk image on the SD card, USB device, whatever the emulator supports. To the computer that it is attached to, it looks like a physical floppy drive. The firmware would determine what computers can talk to it. Does this answer your question?
