eightbit
Yes, you need to remove Kickstart. My revision 6.2 A2000 wouldn't boot with it in. Not sure about the 68000 when using the Fast Slot adapter. Think the 68000 is automatically disabled whenever anything is inserted into the slot. When you see fancy Amiga Workbenches, they're almost always some flavor of 3.1 or better. People customizing the hell out of the cosmetics with different icons, backgrounds, etc. There's always ClassicWB if you don't want the trouble and hassle of tracking everything down, but I'm using ApolloOS with my Vampire. You'll have to read up on how to install these things. All the ancillary stuff, I just bought on eBay: HDMI right angle: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HDMI-Male-to-Female-Right-Angle-Connector-Adapter-90-Degree-Extender-1080P-HDTV/141542756928?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 HDMI flat cable: https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Super+HD+4K+Ultra+HDMI+Flat+Cable+2V+Male+to+Female+HDMI+Extension+Cord+Support&_id=252604432855&&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2658 USB Blaster: http://www.ebay.com/itm/altera-Mini-Usb-Blaster-Cable-For-CPLD-FPGA-NIOS-JTAG-Altera-Programmer/292202636787?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 microSD extension: https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Micro+SD+Extension&_id=262806792582&&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2658 CF adapter: https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=CF+Compact+Flash+Merory+Card+to+Vertical+2.5%22+IDE+Hard+Disk+Drive+HDD+SSD+YG&_id=122198452479&&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2658 Great info! Thank you! I believe I have the same Rev a2000 as you. I am no stranger at setting up ClassicWB so I don't think I'll have problems there. I did find ApolloOS last night after I posted. It's always great to know someone using the same setup ; ) . Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
eightbit
I just ordered one of the slot adapters. I will have to wait until payday for the rest. Acill confirmed by the way that regardless of whether you use the Vampire in a slot, you still need to completely remove the 68K and kickstart. Good to know... eightbit
In prep for the vampire and CPU slot adapter I decided not to go the right angle slot adapter way and simply get a right angle thin HDMI cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LM2TR0E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I hate using adapters when I don't have to and I think this should fit the bill. I also ordered a 44 pin IDE female to female cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T3EGD6Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 That I plan on using with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000T9QQP0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In conjunction with the bracket this supplies in order to mount it to a free slot on the back of the case so it will never have to be opened in order to access the CF card. These Startech adapters are great...I have used them in quite a few projects. We will see how it goes when everything arrives!
