Rick Dangerous
Well....do you? Would sure love a chance to play this but not interested in the "mini-console" phenomena. Frankly just don't have room on the shelf or any more HDMI inputs to spare. I would buy this as a cart for SNES if they released it (never going to happen) or, hopefully, someday in the Switch eshop. Keeping my fingers crossed but not holding my breath given Nintendo's pattern of trying to annoy and actively alienate its customers with its business practices. Metal Jesus
hard to say since Starfox 2 seems to be the biggest selling point of the SNES classic... Although I suspect many people, myself included would just buy it twice at $7.99 for the convenience
Rick Dangerous
Maybe someone will figure out how to strip the ROM from the SNES Mini for play on an SDNES2 and thus actual SNES? Would prefer to pay for it but we all know how Nintendo rolls with not making things available for customers to purchase... If they do bring it to the Switch eShop it would probably be a year or two after this SNES mini launch..

I'm very interested to try this version of the game. The SD2SNES doesnt support FX games so this would be a no go unless someone can eventually add support if possible.
NE146
I'm sure it will be eventually.. and why not. However, apparently it doesn't differ all that much from the most recent ROM out there that people play in emulators or put onto repro carts, so if you're in a rush just get that and you'll be about 99% there. cybercylon
It's already done and out there What's already been done? Someone striping the rom or playable on the SD2NES2? I can see the former happening. The latter is likely never to happen. I don't see it being released on the Switch eShop. There hasn't been much word in there being a VC for the Switch period AFAIK. Tanooki
It's not the finished version that is on the SNES mini though is it? Yes and there's videos of it already online with it been dumped like this one to prove it running in SNES9X: I'd just suggest trolling google or youtube and you'll probably find it in a matter of 5 minutes or less. This video has no comments as of my posting, don't want anyone pissed at me for rom linking. Search any others posted in the last week/day you'll find a link if you put the effort in. Video
Not sure what's missing out of the currently available copies of starfox 2 out there, those of us who gave two craps about it already have it. Its the only non legit game on SNES I own so I can't justify getting one. I'd buy it again if I could.

The added level is really cool. It's pretty cool to think about in 2017 Nintendo was working on a SNES game. I wonder what they used to do this. You think they pulled a Dev kit out of storage and did it or used modern hardware? The former would be cool and an awesome story but I doubt that's the case.
Tanooki
That is a fun thought, but do we really know it was ever truly unfinished? We're just assuming because some leaked out very late beta hit the market nothing more was done after the fact. The one we got days ago has a ©1996 date on it while the beta dump is a year earlier on that screen.
Andromeda Stardust
The new SF2 definitely has more polish. So what if they canned it to not detract from N64. Devs got paid. Gamers got a better Star Fox on that system. The fact that Nintendo threw us a bone here is very cool.
