Tidus79001
I have noticed that in Jr. Pac-Man for the Atari 2600 that the toy-candy only destroys the power pills located in the 4 corners of the maze. The 2 power pills in the center sections of the maze are not affected when touched by the toy-candy. Is the behavior the same in the arcade, or did someone just miss this when programming the 2600 version? Tidus79001
Here are my findings after doing tests on the arcade version VS the 2600, 5200 and 7800: Arcade (tested via MAME) - 2 center power pills are not destroyed when the toy-candy touches the power pill 2600 (as seen on actual 2600 hardware & via emulation) - 2 center power pills are not destroyed when the toy-candy touches the power pill 5200 (tested with emulation) - 2 center power pills are destroyed when the toy-candy touches the power pill 7800 (tested with emulation)- 2 center power pills are destroyed when the toy-candy touches the power pill Interesting to know that the 2600 was programmed to match the arcade in terms of behavior of the power pill & toy-candy interaction. *I did find an interesting glitch in the Atari 5200 ROM while testing tonight. I died as the upper right power pill was destroyed by the toy-candy. After respawning the destroyed image of the power pill was still there. No response from the destroyed power pill when moving over it. Edited October 10, 2017 by Tidus79001
imstarryeyed
In the arcade the prizes seem to destroy with center pills if the prize has gone the requite number of steps. I often have seen the prize not destroy the center pills if the prize is early on its journey, but given enough time whatever pill it has its sights set on gets destroyed. The prizes kill the power pill at the end of its journey as its way of leaving the maze if there are pills still available. Can you try eating the corner pills first and leaving the center ones? I wonder if you can make it happen?

+KaeruYojimbo
The prizes kill the power pill at the end of its journey as its way of leaving the maze if there are pills still available. Has anyone ever tried eating all of the energizers before the prize can destroy one? Does the prize then become trapped in the maze?
