Madman is probably referring to pre-populated boards robbed from cartridges that need to be bought in bulk and dechipped. You have to buy those in bulk lots to get them in the ballpark of $2-$3 shipped from myatari.

 

That Playstation is tempting but the corrosion in the metal shielding is a bad omen. How does the exterior shell look cosmetically? Any estimation on what it would weigh in a package for shipment?

There is store that sells unpopulated ones as well. I forget the guys name. Dunno if he's still selling them or not though.

Lol, well $2 for a new un-populated board would be a steal which is why I was wondering.  

I've added a photo for the psx to the first post.  It has some minor scuffs and scratches but overall not bad.

Weight:  3lb 10oz

I noticed another resistor that looks a bit damaged.  Can't say for certain that is the only other issue tho.
