It says sold for 60 not sure why. But he accepted my offer for 50 with free shipping and handling. Not bad since its the cheapest I have ever seen. And they go for about close to 100 normally on ebay. Even another one I saw for 50 starting bid is probably going to be bid up by the end. Plus he says working and no yellowing so not bad. Now for the questions. Is the ac adapter the same as the full size original super Nintendo? How reliable are the 3rd part ones like in the listing I got? I have a original adapter but the shell is cracked and is held together with strong packaging tape. Never had a problem. But just want to be safe. Or can I use that 3 party adapter on my original super Nintendo? And I have 2 controllers and plenty of av cables so I am good. Just need to make sure about the ac adapter. Don't want to fry it. What you have there is a cheap chinese knockoff controller, video, and ac adapter. A loose console is like $40 plus the knockoff parts so you did quite ok with that being the shipped price. I did look though and they are up in that $60+ range, and the system is the same parts wise as the original SNES so a normal SNES adapter, video cable, and controller will all work with it. The only changes was that the SNES controller face started to mold the plastic to its emblem instead of the gray ink face of the original into the plastic itself. The third party stuff you have is garbage. They work, but they don't work as well and don't last anywhere near as long. I would never trust a knockoff ac adapter though but that's me. I've seen that boxed one you got with it fry systems before and complaining about it online while others will claim its fine so to me it's a gamble not worth taking. Still not a bad deal however. And I can re ebay the knockoffs so even less. plus free shipping. So not bad. And I can resell my original unit and keep this. Unlike the older large SNES consoles, on the SNES jr svideo and RGB are not hooked up internally. You'll only get composite video. Good news is those signals can be easily restored, and the jr's picture is sharper than the old console. It's still your prerogative to use composite, but please understand the distinction between the two. As for the 3rd party AC cord, it's fine for use if you have no better option, but if you come across an OEM plug, I would upgrade to it. It works but nobody makes just shells. And even on ebay dead or borken adapter are not cheap. I had another one dead but cannot find it right now. And the shell was different and would not fit. crazydean Posted October 19, 2017 Share Posted October 19, 2017 I use that exact same AC adapter and have had no problems even with the extra power that the SD2SNES draws. What I like about is that it is solid-state. So, there's no heavy transformer inside that draws power when not in use. However, I don't use it on the Genesis because the Mega Everdrive needs extra power and 850mA just isn't enough. IIRC, the Genesis is rated at 1.0A while the SNES is rated at 850mA. As for the Jr, they go for more than the standard system. $50 is a good price. I actually bought a Jr and sold my original because the Jr produces brighter colors. Component is almost gone from new tvs You basically have the best HDTV for hooking up old consoles (with a great picture) without the need for a framemeister or ossc. Being a Samsung, it most likely treats 240P as 240P as well. You'd be remiss not to take advantage of that. click the attached thumbnails for the full pic. Here's my SNES Jr over composite. Note that jagged mess, nasty text, some weird banding thing going on on the hill in the background: Here's the SAME SNES Jr hooked to the same TV with the same picture settings, utilizing HD retrovision's SNES component cables. And does not get as hot as when hooked up to my fat super Nintendo original. It looks great even works with my tristar super 8 and nakitek game saver plus. Except the nakitek game saver plus is a tight fit. And sometimes it does not line up right and work. But if you insert it just right it works. And the tristar super 8 works. The super section works great. But the NES and FAMICOM section do not work. They just give a black screen. Well on my fat original super Nintendo at least. But it works on the JR. Huge bonus on the tristar working better than the original unit, same with the less hot ac adapter too.
