As for Cmart's challenge for $1000, it's still a fine goal - you can donate to an extra life campaign any time during the calendar year, donations don't have to be made on or before the event itself. I was so pleased to see the total hit $800 this morning! That's great in and of itself. But if you wanted to donate and haven't yet, don't feel like you've missed the opportunity to join in. I've never looked into creating an Intellivision compatible controller. Can you point me to some detail about your suggestion for a diode circuit?
