Is Atarimax still in business?

1) lotherek was never faster than atarimax getting anything to my door, I don't blame him, I blame shipping from oversees....or one of his many he's away times

2) atarimax sio2pc is the only one capable at this time to handle fast serial changes in time to operate xf 551's and the like properly in their native fast modes.

3) a vendor who has always been with us and quick, held hands and all that whom is trying hard to stay with us sure could lose hart if a campaign to beat the horse to death continues as a hard year comes to a close...

4) ever notice the low post number or the persons always flipping out about it? It might be their first or 18th post.

5) it takes ten seconds to read some threads or do a search and realize all of this and get an answer before starting yet another thread.

6) the classsics website also sells some atarimax devices... I think it uses google check out with auto-responder, pay pal can also verify if funds have or have not been drawn yet.

7) you can buy some of his devices thru ebay... or since the atarimax website does not do broadcasting like ebay does, maybe shoot him a note through ebay if you were not able to send him an email on either of his contact mail addresses or his phone number.... I don't suggest calling at 11:00 pm or 6:00am just after ordering though

8)

As much as I like Steve's products.. and at times I have gotten responses to emails that afternoon.. and I still have emails to him that have never been responded to. I own his stuff.. and I think overall great guy. If you can run a CC quick.. you can send a note saying you did so, no excuse. I am also in the retail business (my store) and see no excuse at all. But as has been said.. Hes the guy with the GOLD.. so you have to deal with it.

The dead horse thing.. refers to the topic.. not beating on Steve, Thats the way I received it? :)

I placed an order with Atarimax, about a day ago. I got a reply within 24 hours. I want to try the MyIDE 2 cart.

I received this, in less than 24 hours.....

Steve always comes through. No worries. He's probably a busy man. I love his stuff.

I also have to give props to Lotharek for shipping so quickly from halfway around the Earth from where I live.

Do not worry. There could be a delay, but there is no lack of honor or integrity on the part of both of these sellers. They always come through!

Hi,

I'm starting to get a bit anxious concerning a transaction I did with them last Monday.

I never received any confirmation email or shipping info and yet my credit card has been charged.

I've sent two email to them and also posted two message on their forum and still I've not heard from them.

Is this normal for this online store?

I also just noticed that his answer to an inquiry and a shipping notice from October both went to my junk mail for some reason.

Check your SPAM filter. I've expereineced the slow response to follow up queries, but I've always gotten an Automated e-mail when I originally placed an order. (And if the initial e-mails are in SPAM, any responses may be too.)

Having said that, I have personally decided not to order from Atarimax anymore. I prefer to support people that are more responsive.

First thing I checked... But alas, no email.

Well, well, well I can relax now.

For some reason, the email got to my old gmail adress instead of my outlook one... I haven't use that one for quite a while but since that was the one I used when I bought my sio2rs232 years ago I've decided to go check it just in case and yep the email was there...

I guess I'm a walkin' talkin' case of foot in mouth disease...

Good to see it's sorted. I have to admit that I've only ever bought something from Steve once and that was some years ago. It went smooth as silk. The fact that he's still selling his stuff shows that he's still regarded as an upstanding member of the community ... people around here aren't forgiving of people who try to rip other people off and he wouldn't have lasted as long as he has if he was in any way dodgy.

Not sure if I mentioned it before... But in case I did not:

Steven Tucker and his Atarimax are a bright star in the a8 scene.

Oh wait... I already posted this in the plethora of topics about this same topic ever and ever again. And everytime it turns out that the fuzz was about nothing.

Although I can understand the worries, I find it a bloody shame that a new forum member not first uses the search facility of this forum, writes a topic which is not good advertisement for Atarimax and where it (as in most of all other cases) turns out that it was not Tucker's fault.

So I can not repeat this enough... Tucker and Atarimax are amazing and I would trust him forever. Great, great guy.

And if there might be any future people with doubts or worries who actually did use the search feature and find this topic... For those people I would say: Read my lips: Tucker and Atarimax are awesome!

So this means he does acknowledge orders by email after all? But he still gets a forum post regarding "the legal situation". LOL.

Mmmm, I admited my part in this imbroglio so I'll sleep well at night. Especially since this thread was never meant as an attack against the guy.

Since last week, I've spent over $1k on different retro eShop and eBay. This was the only one I had a "problem" with. It was also the only one that didn't use a modern shopping cart solution without Paypal, hence why I was a bit anxious.

Again, if I cause any problem to the guy it was not intentional. Also of note, english isn't my main language and text on a forum doesn't carry emotion or intention very well. But I don't have any control over your emotions concerning this thread and I can only say again: I never intended for this thread to become a flamewar and have nothing against the guy.

Actually I did search (via google) and read one of the thread. But you see, situations evolve and business do go out without notice, hence why I ask if it was STILL in business and explained my situation. I admited my responsibility in this.

At this point what more can I do? Send him a dozen roses and a box of chocolate?

You know that the easy solution would be to just upgrade his shopping cart to something a bit more modern and/or accept Paypal.

Hehe why not? ;)

I believe you and it is not that I think that your intentions were bad. The reason I responded is that this kind of topics might harm Tuckers reputation and if you had use the search button in the atariage forum you would have found a very similar topic from a very recent date. If you had done that, current thread wouldn't exist (so no possible harm to Tucker)

Then again... perhaps his way of business is not up to date but on the other side his site actually did send a confirmation mail but to an old email address. So yes... partly his fault but not entirely.

The danger of threads like these lies here in that the internet never forgets anything. 1 negative review kills what 100 positive reviews build.

So that is why I keep cheering about Tucker and why I am so strict about not starting this kind of threads before tripple check whether it is justified to start the topic.

Well everything is said what can be said. Let's hope you will enjoy your ordered atarimax product and let's hope for a happy end :)
