Anybody have a good way to alphabetically store and protect this many manuals for easy reference, like when I get my Atari Flashback Gold Activision Edition with 130 games and I want to look at one of them rather than run to the laptop? My only concern is I would want to get one where the plastic doesn't stick to the paper and remove the ink. Is this a good brand for that? Is this a good brand for that? I really like the UltraPro brand. It's made for collectible cards (or atari manuals). I included a picture of the box in my reply. You'll soon discover that many Atari-brand manuals are about 1/8" too long for these 7-1/8 x 5-1/2" UltraPro binder page pockets. I don't know about you, but it really chaps my ass that I've got to store some manuals separate. To my mind, it defeats the whole purpose. So, I'm currently on the lookout for UltraPro binder pages--or any binder pages--that will accommodate these slightly larger manuals, as well as much larger manuals like those made by Epyx. At BagsUnlimited.com they've got similar binder pages intended for stamps with two pockets per page that each measure roughly 7-1/2 x 5" but they're much more expensive than the UltraPro pages referenced above, and they're only 3-gauge polypropylene versus UltraPro's 5-gauge. Alternatively, they carry UltraPro binder pages designed for comic books, one top-loading pocket per page. But these are 8-gauge and they've got a 3/4" resealable flap that I wish they didn't have--the price and dimensions are close to the 7-1/8 x 5-1/2" pages that got us here in the first place. I've ordered neither of these yet, but my finger is hovering over the button on a 5-pack of the expensive ones (the fewest you can order), and a 50-pack of the comic book ones (the fewest you can order). I was lucky and found a pair that features Leif Ericsson on a Viking longship. That's me to a t. Anyway, I have about 200 manuals and keep them on a nearby shelf between these bookends. Works great and instant accessibility. Good luck finding bookends if you go this route. eBay bookends and a subject that appeals to you and maybe you'll hit a match. So, I'm considering making the switch to bags and boards, or bags no boards. So, to the guys who use the boards and bags method, once you've got your manuals all neatly bagged, is there a storage bin out there that perfectly fits the bagged manuals? CaptainBreakout Posted August 14, 2018 Share Posted August 14, 2018 (edited) Also if you are a do-it-yourselfer, you can "seal" a seam down a page of one of these ultra pro pages to cut the pocket down to a custom size. You'll need a hot metal rod (heat it in the oven), a stone or ceramic surface for the Ultra Pro page (use a big magazine size one), an oven mitt and some practice. You might also want a could of large thin floor tiles to use as heat sinks over the areas in each side of the seam you don't want to seal. If you space it just right, you can lay your hot metal rod on top of the spaced floor tiles and the exposed area of the ultrapro page, without the page actually making direct contact with the metal rod. This will melt the page together at that exact spot if you do it all properly. Good luck going that direction if you choose to.
