-1 for going any kind of "crowdfunded" route. I'd be out then. Zero interest whatsoever.

Especially don't need annoying e-mail updates every few weeks with sumguy's ramblings of their snail paced mis-micromanaging:

Thanks for your patience all! Today, my dog got sick and we had to put him down. But good news, the glue we ordered months ago for the boxes finally came. Delay was out of our control as there was a tsunami near the plant where it is produced. To make matters worse, horses are in short supply.

Still looking for a source of non-magnetic staples and the special ink needed to produce the manual. The printer has already secured the red and blue inks, just waiting on the rest.

Few weeks later... Had a small hiccup with the molds. Turns out the fabrication shop produced them over spec, so now the internals won't fit. We will be selling these as "overruns" for you special collectards in order to recoup the expense. At your expense of course, but never mind that. Updates to come!

Another few weeks later... well, the printer finally got the rest of the inks and is now in the final stage of inserting it into his press. Don't suspect that'll take long, probably just another month or so. In the meantime, we're placing bids on those non-magnetic staples and hope to secure something soon. Just need to find a really long stapler next.

Several more weeks... great news! The printer was able to slather the inks into his press and has begun printing! Been having problems with the electricity in our shop though, so progress hasn't been so great securing an extra long stapler for the manuals. We've since switched operations to little Jimmy's mothers' basement, so hope to have WiFi set up soon there - but things are coming along!

Month goes by... Hey all, just wanted to give an update. Jimmy's mom came down with a bad case of the sniffles. While this in and of itself may not seem like a big deal, it has delayed the installation of the wireless router down in her basement. Hope to have that setup and configured soon.

2 months go by... okay, some big updates here! In the time it took to have WiFi set up at Jimmy's house, one of the team got a brilliant idea to have a generator installed at the shop for more consistent electricity while we save up for a contractor to repair. Have yet to find a really long stapler, but have since learned we can simply tap the staples closed with a hammer and needle nose pliers. Hardly leaves a mark into the paper! Printer says he's finished printing the manuals and will get them sent to us soon for stapling. Stay tuned for more updates! The project is really coming along now. We can feel it.

Couple of weeks later... well, some bad news here. Jimmy's mom passed away. Turns out it wasn't sniffles at all, but syphilis. But that's not what killed her! While following the internet providing contractor that finally showed up, down to the basement, she slipped on one of David's (another valued and experienced team member) leftover turkey pot pie tins and broke her neck on the way down. Visitation being held at McDuff's funeral home this Friday.

Few weeks later... okay, finally making progress here. Paper for the manuals received and we just got into stapling/hammering them, when Jimmy noticed something was wrong. Printer had not collated the pages correctly! But never fear... we've hired Jimmy's dad to cut the pages and tape things up in proper order. This minor hiccup will only delay the project by a few months, but hang tight as we want to do things right for you. Our valued and esteemed backers.

6 months go by... alright, manuals all finished, but we forgot all about the oversized molds! Fabrication shop got back to us with a retooled example, but it just sat there in Jimmy's mothers' basement all this time as we were all distracted by her death. We've put a rush on approval, so they can get to fabricating the new shells.

Few weeks go by... great news all! Fabrication shop finished with the newly approved run of shells and we're now ready to install the internals. The internals we haven't even begun to get bids for yet, but no worries... we hope to have word back within the next few weeks in time for the all important Columbus Day holiday. Stay tuned...

8 months later... After finally securing all of the pieces to assemble, one of our team (Jimmy of course) was served a C&D order due to some ages old copyright patent infringement, having to do with the proprietary spacing of plastic studs that secure and align the internals. Jimmy's dad has been busy drilling, screwing and reassembling all this time though, so won't be long now as we're in the final stages - ready for distribution!

Several months later and now fishing the updates out of my e-mail's 'junk' folder... we here at Blah Blah Blah Team (sans Jimmy, details to follow) regret to inform our backers that there will be a slight delay in shipment, due to a freak accident involving all of the assembled product. Everything was packed up and ready for shipment, when the generator supplanting the electricity we purchased blew up, and took the entire section of the shop with it. This section of the shop just happened to be where all the finished product was being staged for pickup by USPS contractors the very next day. So close! If only the generator could have waited to explode until after the product was picked up! Oh and Jimmy, sadly, happened to be in the vicinity of the explosion. So we're now down a valuable and previously extremely productive member of the team, but no worries... we all learned a lot from this experience and want to ensure that ALL of our backers will be upgraded to the Platinum level, where you are entitled to a free download of the generator explosion caught by our security cameras, as well as BOTH Jimmy's moms' AND Jimmy's very own Funeral Programs, to be forever cherished alongside your original Kickstarting funded collectible treasure. :)

With red glowing eyes like the CatBox :) At least add it to the deluxe model ;)

As long as we're making suggestion, a reverse color scheme of red with dark gray buttons would be cool!

Suggestions are appreciated; however the initial run of these will be 1:1 duplicates of the original minus the logo. Hopefully we can get enough interest to make this run possible

Have you tried contacting some of the larger retro gaming retailers? Perhaps Best, B&C, Goat Store, etc would be interested although there isn't much meat on the bone for them. Also based on how these move on EBay I'm sure you could move plenty of them over time there.

I contacted them all today and will see what they have to say.
