MAE assembler, silly noob question

I've downloaded the atr from the MAE website (version 1.1) and transfered it to a real floppy with my old SIO2PC serial interface. Now, I haven't touch an Atari in years so don't laugh at me please.

 

My silly question is how do I load and run the thing? The floppy isn't bootable and if I try to load it from my dos 2.5 menu the computer just hang and needs a reset. I've tried both my 800xl and 130xe.

 

I know there's a newer 1.3 version on the site but it isn't an atr format.

I must have dowloaded a bad atr, or more precisely an incomplete one.
