C64 (PETSCII) term emulator app BBSing on ST?

Thanks. Was that out back-in-the-day? I think I used Flash exclusively back then... Maybe even on my Falcon... Wait... ANSI Term? Hmm...

Yeah, I think it was one of my first term programs on the ST after I moved on from the A8? But I quickly moved on because most of the A8 BBSs were gone in my local area and I had mostly moved to the ST too. ANSITerm was eventually my term of choice. I want to say I used VANTerm till then. I still use ANSITerm when calling from my ST though I admit I do most of my BBS calling from the PC with SynccTerm currently. It does a great ATASCII (and PETSCII).

Because you know as well as I do that it isn't worth the time.

Be honest. What do you think is a guess at the number of people who...

1) Call BBS's

2) With an actual Atari ST, no SyncTerm or calling with other retro machines

3) Who want to call Commodore BBS's

4) In Petscii.

Syncterm works fine for the people who are ok with that. For people like you who are serious collectors, you have a capable Commodore sitting around, right? For the Emulation crowd... well... what can I say?

I actually was talking with DarkLord and some others about a "modern" term program for the ST line (mostly because I want something that can let me use whichever port or internet connection I have and take full advantage of the Falcon/TT resolutions).

But if I did it, how many people would actually use it? You could count them on one hand after a tragic accident in shop class.

Can someone give me a list of 2 or 3 PETSCII enabled BBS's out there?  They need to be Telnet accessible.

Thanks.

Might want to check in Commodoore circles.  I know of Particles! but don't have the info.

Tim provided some PETSCII code and thought I might try to link it to a dumb telnet terminal client I have.  Someone had inquired about PETSCII BBS's back in some earlier threads, but if nobody is responding about what BBS's use PETSCII, then I guess emulation is not much of a concern...……….
