Electrical Engineering-wise -- how complex/difficult would it be to put a board inbetween an Atari 8bit motherboard and POKEY that intercepts the audio out and makes it available over bluetooth?

Check ebay "bluetooth audio transmitter" - cheap boxes already available that you could use, all that's needed is to provide the Atari audio to a 3.5mm plug which plenty of us do already.

Exactly, but get a GOOD One or you will have lag which is terrible, especially with games and.....well in fact lag is always terrible.

 

And also...audio conversion can be terrible.

 

I bought this one from AliExpress with exactly the goal of streaming Stereo Pokey to my Bluetooth capable Onkyo receiver.....big failure.

Not only did it produce hiss and distortion in the audio signal, it also had a lot of lag.

I guess in this case it was too cheap to be true....would love to hear from someone who bought one with GOOD audio quality and (almost) no lag....it also needs to fit inside a 600XL
