Humblejack
Hi All, Just wanted to share my collection of connected overlays. The pics aren't the best but you will get the idea. If you have any please share. As you can see I have duplicates, it you have any you would like to trade please let me know. If you open a box and find some connected and don't care to collect but want to make my day PM me and let's see if we can work something out. They are not rare (perhaps the Red Bump'n'Jump are) but are fun to collect. The backer sheets are hard to find connected. Thanks for looking any comments will be appreciated. One more thing to search for. You have to open a lot of shrinkwrapped games to get one.

+the1hatman
Thanks, they almost made it to you! Nah I wanted you to have them. For my collection's purposes, I don't need them to be connected as long as they are mint or near-mint. So I'd rather the connected ones go to someone who values and collects them specifically they way you do. Folks like you and c-mart are less collectors and more archivists for our hobby. Your collections count more as museums so I'd rather stuff like this went to you guys as long as I have a nice set for my own games
+intvsteve
It never occurred to me that that was a "thing" either. Yikes! I always just pulled 'em apart! The horror! (Someone else can find a youtube clip of that. ) I thought my Melody Blaster and World Series and a couple other ECS overlays were like that in my stuff -- at some point. But then I went and scanned them for some web page.... Those Shark! Shark! and red Bump 'n' Jump are impressive. Most impressive.
+cmart604
Yah the BumpnJump ones are the bestest.

+the1hatman
I'm beginning to sense that all the connected overlays were the 1983 and onward Mattel releases plus Intellivision Inc. games. I have a lot of Mattel common gatefolds that were sealed when I got them and all of the overlays in those were separated.

By the looks of the your collection you do need the Jetson's. Those Mr. Basic have to be rare and the WS Baseball - Great!
+the1hatman
No I have a nice set of Jetson's overlays you sent me so I'm good there. As I said, I'd rather the connected ones went into a collection such as yours for preservation. The World Series overlays were quite surprising as the copy of the game I bought was far from new. The box and cart showed plenty of wear so finding connected overlays with them seemed odd but in a good way. As for Mr. Basic, I see tons of sealed copies of it available on eBay for cheap prices. I'm sure there are plenty of connected overlays within those copies it's just that people tend not to open a lot of sealed games.

+intellivotion
Hey guys, that's a cool subset I had never considered until now. I'm sure I separated several couples like those over the years, feeling like a surgeon saving the lives of conjoined twins. I'll have to dig in my collection and check if there are some still connected
Eric7100
No offense to anybody here, but am I the only one who finds those red Bump 'N' Jump overlays to be kind of ugly?
Humblejack
No offense to anybody here, but am I the only one who finds those red Bump 'N' Jump overlays to be kind of ugly? Well ugly is a pretty strong word, pehaps homely. They do lack a certain pizzazz when compared to the others. I would love to get hold of their brothers, Basketball, Auto Racing, Pinball, World Cup Soccer and Championship Tennis. Motocross also made paper one's but not quite as "ugly". Humblejack
don't forget the last discovery: Frog Bog I didn't, it fits the paper category but not the ugly or homely one so I should have mentioned it with Motocross. My apologies.
+the1hatman
Thought I should put these in the proper thread before shipping them off to Humblejack: And as a surprise bonus I found a set of connected Triple Action overlays with connected protectors as well...
