ti-99 controller wont go up

ok so picked up a ti99 controller set

 

neither controller would go up(using munchman as a test)

so after cleaning and finding out 99% iso instant removes the painted on contact pads lol

i rewired one side to a arcade stick

 

even with the arcade stick im still dealing with no up (left down right work flawless now tho lol)

 

 

is there a pin out for the controller so i can meter and check continuity on the up line

or os this a common problem with the actual port on the computer

 

 

i dont see any broken pins in the computers port

and the controller plug looks damage free as well

The CAPS LOCK key must be *up* or the joystick *up* will not work. There is a fix for this, it requires modding your keyboard with a diode.

yup that was it thanks

 

when I first got the set one would only go left and up

the other right and down

 

 

so I cleaned them and wiped out the stupid painted on contact pads

 

so built this with spare parts lying around my arcade store

got home and would not go up so thought I messed something up lol

guess caps lock got hit while moving things around
