zzip
I've seen some great stuff done by the community on the Atari 8bit, like the Asteroids arcade conversion, the unfinished IK+ that was looking great. The improved Donkey Kong/Popeye/DKjr that were posted here. I'm wondering what other great stuff like that is around that I may have missed? I don't think there's a single source that's collected these things. I'm especially interested in anything that pushes the system more than the average 80s game. Doing things we thought were impossible.

AtariLeaf
Latest game, only released a week ago, is the insanely great Bosconian arcade conversion. I just heard about this and after spending so much time with Draconian I'm itching to try this out. It's good timing as I just got an Atarimax USB programmer cart and an 8 meg cart so I'm hoping to get it up and running this weekend and Bosconian is definitely one I want on there.

+CharlieChaplin
Where is the advanced search link on that site? I must be missing it. Well, the "advanced search" can be found at atarimania. At Fandal's webpage you type in the year in the search function (top right) and then click on "in details". Then all programs that were released in that year should be shown - if Fandal has them on his webpage (in his database). This works very good for newer releases from 2000-2017, not so good for releases of the 80s and 90s, since there are many programs where the exact year of release is unknown. Example: a) 2017: http://a8.fandal.cz/search.php?search=2017&butt_details_x=x b) 2016: http://a8.fandal.cz/search.php?search=2016&butt_details_x=x etc. Edited January 9, 2018 by CharlieChaplin
darwinmac
Pretty sure Atariblast needs 1MB RAM....not sure about Space Harrier.... I think thats only true if you run it as an executable. As a cartridge image, I have no problems running it on my 64k XEGS. The only problem I have is I stink at it. :-) Bob C
