metzger130
Looking to get a Lynx to finish my Atari collection and wondering what the going rate people see for them is. I also am wondering if they are plagued with needing to be recapped like the game gears seem to all have. Thanks in advance.
+davidcalgary29
You should be able to get a working Lynx without any bad pixels (or perhaps 1 or 2) for about $75. A McWilld job will cost you upwards of $300, and its recommended if youre actually going to play it for any length of time, but not necessary if youre just going to play one or two games. SainTs multicart is also a must.
PFG 9000
The McWill mod looks beautiful, but it's not nearly required for Lynx enjoyment. I've been using my unmodded Lynx II for around 27 years with no issues.
Guitari
Once you try mcwill, you never go back.
ginoscope
I just recently bought a Lynx after some research and I think the going rate is $75-$100 for the Lynx II. Slightly cheaper for the Lynx 1 but not by much. I plan on doing the McWill soon but have not ordered the screen yet. From all I read these are not plagued by capacitor issues like the game gear is. metzger130
Does it matter if I get a lynx 1 or 2, or are they about the same in quality?
ginoscope
Does it matter if I get a lynx 1 or 2, or are they about the same in quality? The Lynx 2 has stereo headphones and better battery life. It's also easier for loading games.
