Using a TV with the 1040 ST

I understand that some programs only work fine with the B/W monitor and others only with the color monitor. Also I want color in any case.

So I guess the best thins is using a TV instead of the "real" monitor. Given that the TV has several inputs (Component Video, Composite, HDMI, Scart, VGA and Coax) what is the best solution. For which input should start finding a cable?

We have PAL her.

What I find important is whether I can use a TV with both monochrome/hires & color/lores programs. I prefer 1 screen instead of 2 and switching cables all the time.

You can not use a TV for both hires and color modes. You can use some (VGA) monitors for that, but they have to able to sync down to 15 kHz line frequency for color mode. There are lists of compatible monitors (Google is your friend). In the Netherlands, you can order something like this which is on some lists:

Low res color and hires give the best picture on these.
