Amiga expansion chassis (history triva note)

I just read about how the Amiga 2000 was designed from what was to be an Expansion Box for the Amiga 1000. Other similar setups that actually came to pass would be the Mountain Hardware Expansion Chassis for the Apple II, and the PEB Peripheral Expansion Box for the TI-99/4A.

 

I love bits of trivia like that!

Since the Amiga (I believe) was the second most expandable computer of the era (PC being #1), for a while it was a thing to mod them into towers and such. No reason you couldn't mount a Ti, or any other classic comp into a tower.

Had both a ][+ and a C64 BITD, but not at the same time. When I got a C64 later, thought it would be cool to own one of these. Hell, wouldn't mind one today.

I just came across a Command Center for the 128 with two 1571s inside. Gonna fix it up and get it to someone who will put it to proper use.

Ohh yeh that Spectrode thing. That was amusing and interesting AND totally unreliable. Found this scan through google images, it says at the bottom that I have to give credit to vintagecomputing.com so there!!
