Anyone have a reliable source for replacement MK4116N memory chips?

Here's one that I haven't had problems with in the past. . .

The ones on my board all say 2GP, the ones in that listing say 20NL, what's the difference, and would there be any problems with mixing the two?

No problems mixing those, just different manufacture marking.

I've used both with no problems  :)

OK, I've got some replacement chips on the way. Before I start working on the board I want to make sure that I'm pulling the right chip. What I see when I turn it on is the orange screen as shown on Ninerpedia: https://www.ninerped...Troubleshooting

If I understand what it's saying about the bit masks, then the bad chip is the one labeled 7?

If the mapping between the circuits and the memory bits is correct, then yes. I once created that image (and the fault screens), but I took the information about the bit location from someone else.

By the way, you know what these garbled screens remind me of? This is a picture that I took on my last vacation. Seems at first as if they were also lacking a bit.

It is transliterated as "Khünsniy bööniy khudaldaa / Khadat super market".

There is a moment in most of my vacations when I get this "far away feeling", and it was right here.

The chips were waiting for me when I got home from work. Got a little frustrated when the bad chip wouldn't come out after de-soldering it and ended up clipping the pins on the one side that was accessible and then twisting it until the others broke off, somehow managed to not damage the board. Installed a socket and put one of the new chips and it looks good now, so the guide does have the correct mapping, at least for that chip
