Welcome to the round two of the 5200 HSC season 11!  Miner 2049er won the poll with 5 votes.   Play with default difficult setting.  Emulation is fine, as are custom controls. Pics preferred, but not required except for HSC wins and records.

The current HSC record for Miner 2049er was set by darthkur - 200,730 points.  Do better if you can to earn a bonus point!

Round ends Sunday, February 18th 2018 @9pm EST

Of course, a little player/missile glitch like that is no reason to disqualify a score.

This one is a huge old favorite of mine. Played the heck out of it in the mid-80s on my 65XE. It can be frustrating to be sure, but so much fun.

If possible, give it a try with something other then the standard 5200 joystick. That thing's lack of self-centering makes this game a good bit harder than it would be otherwise. If you don't have an alternate 5200 controller, perhaps using an emulator might be worth a try.

I got a Bohoki adapter yesterday and should have a digital pc joystick today or tomorrow. Can't wait to test it out.

With new digital pad, I was able to to get past 5 a few times and 6. Level 7 might take a while.

All it takes is 2 rubber bands to help center the controller.

I was just about to clear the cannon stage and I made a stupid mistake. I would have racked up a ton more points as the first 4 boards are easy for me now.

Finally made it to zone 2! I was able to rack up points since the first boards are easy for me now. Wish I had this game as a kid. I love it!

Awesome to see you fall for this killer game! Glad it still has the same appeal to a new player now that it did back in the day. Congrats on beating all 10 screens!

I made it to level 10 of zone 2! I thought for sure I was going to complete it and hit zone 3. I would have then easily got another 25-30,000 points.
