TonVH
I installed Gotek + HXC into my Atari ST. A few questions: - When Hxc is running it apparently thinks I have a "azerty" keyboard instead of "qwerty". When running an app all is file. How do I tell Hxc what keyboard I have? - I was under the impression that I could also run .msa files. Apparently not. Do I have to covert these and what is the best way to do that? - What is the difference between .st and .stx files? Thanks for any help. DarthVaper
Have you already updated your gotek with latest available firmware? Below a link, I think that explains a few of your questions: http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/
TonVH
I have already read that site numerous times and (with respect for the software but) I nowhere find any answer. It is also 0% user friendly. I am even unable to find a place where all the shortcuts are mentioned and other basic stuff. Again, I do have respect for the software but even the simplest questions are not answered. Question like: how to reset the Gotek so that it is again in default position, when in the slotscreen how to return to the files. The version I have (according to bottom line) is FW v3.1.9.1a HxC ...... selector v1.65a. (if I want to update can I put the .upd file on a stick containing programs?) rcamp48
I am getting a GOTEK drive in the next two weeks, already have 20 Gigs of .ST and .STX files for it on a memory stick, do I have to configure a 32 GIG memory stick especially for the GOTEK and where do I get the HXC program (I want to pay for it...)... if the mods allow it I will put up a site with zip files for all of the Atari lines of machines, they are all on my Mega site , I have been collecting them for years and have the means to convert ST floppy into .ST images, I have over 500 floppies full of public domain files, and they will all be converted on my PC with an external floppy drive to .ST images in the next few weeks. Most of the disks come from an defunct club called K.W.E.S.T. (Kitchener/Waterloo ST Club), I have access to all of the Ontario, Canada clubs databases or at least Toronto and Kitchener/Waterloo but it might take time to compile the list. Of course all of the .ST and .STX files will be zipped up and placed on my 1 TB Mega site. Russ Campbell PS: Note to Mods: let me know if offering ATARI files for emulators is OK, or if you want me to just give the file links to you MODS...... rcamp48
I just acquired over 600 full 720 K disks of Atari stuff, mostly utilities and original programs written by someone in the Kitchener/Waterloo are. about 10 % of them do not work, is there anyone that can recover that data off them? I have a big pile (50) of bad disks but am hanging on to them for the meantime , if there are any Atari enthusiasts in the Kitchener/Waterloo , Ontario , Canada are PM me and I will give you my email address.
