+DZ-Jay
I didn't know where to post this exactly. It's not an advertisement, and it's not an 8-bit game, but it's a game project I found on Kickstarter that I think is very cool and want others to take a look. (I have nothing to do with the project, I don't even know who's making the game, I just find the game premise fascinating.) It's called "Forgive Me, My Henchmen," and it's sort of like a tower-defense game, but with a twist. The story is that there's a vigilante going after the big bad evil crime lord, sort of like in Death Wish or any Taken, or one of those "revenge" movies, and it actually plays like one of those movies -- except that in this story, you are the big bad evil crime lord, and you are trying to dispatch your henchmen to try to stop the vigilante from getting to you! The visual style is like those modern "faux 8-bit" pixellated look. It's tower-defense-meets-platformer game-play, with over-the-top violence and explosions, just like a big budget "revenge" Hollywood movie. I think that's a really cool premise. Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbrMiPeJrVU Take a look and back it if you'd like. Also, I would like to discuss this sort of game with others because I find it very unique and imaginative in concept. -dZ.
Mord
Meanwhile the first thing I thought about was a reversed Keystone Kapers.
+DZ-Jay
Woo-hoo! New game-play trailers were posted: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1339792539/forgive-me-my-henchmen/posts/2132655 It's looking better and better. The developer also responded to a question I made about release formats. He said it would be on Steam and Itch.io, not GoG. Boo! -dZ.
