doctorclu
A lot of people think Bubsy started on Atari (really the SNES and then Genesis) so .... sure... why not! Here we have it folks... BUBSY : Kitt'N Kaboodle This fun hack of Fast Eddie was made possible by Hack-O-Matic 3 . The Woolies are at it again stealing Bubsy's stuff and this time they stole EVERYTHING and stored it on the planet Kaboodle!!! Bubsy will need to JUMP OVER the Woolies to get it all back. In the game you'll see (if I can figure out where the sprites are in the code I hope to change them to...) objects Bubsy needs to collect on based on items he collected in... Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind. Bubsy 2 Bubsy Fractured Furry Tales Bubsy 3D Bubsy 3D: Bubsy Visits the James Turrell Respective And even the newest which came out recently that I'm enjoying... Bubsy: Woolies Strike Back. Released October 31st and still having fun with that game. As for this Commodore 64 fan release, you'll see this is definitely a work in progress. The characters are about 70% where I want them to be. Still haven't found where the prize sprites are mapped so that might not change. And there is the intro screen which I wanted to get some input from those reading this. So here is how the intro screen looks... And I have the gremlin, Presents, and Sirius all mapped out... So I've got some defined screen to play with. Part of me has considered working in some order this... So for example, I could have have ... Gremlin = "Kitt'N Kaboodle" splat. Sirius = Bubsy (being red/pink) Presents= ?? Or we can do... Gremlin = Exclamation point (Bubsy's symbol) Sirius = Kitt N/ Kaboodle W/ Presents = Bubsy ! So curious to see what you all think. Here is the romdisk image to try out: Bubsy-c64-32b7.p00.zip Here are other versions of this game that have been made: Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 400/800 Commodore Vic 20 I'll admit, Fast Eddie was probably the best on the Commodore 64, so this should be interesting! doctorclu
I appreciate the likes, but no recommendations for the title screen?

carlsson
I suppose it works as a title screen. Perhaps try to fix the left side of the bubble so it is fully enclosed. The Bubsy text perhaps can be a little more embossed, not sure if you have enough pixels width for doing that.

doctorclu
"I have a ball of yarn! I have a ball of yarn! I have a ball of yarn! yah." - Bubsy in The Woolies Strike Back [Changed the first prize from a heart to a yarnball] (Some people have puzzles, some have crosswords, my puzzles are discovering the layout of game sprites.) . carlsson
Is Bubsy much for guns? I'm considering if you'd be interested in dabbling with Shoot 'em up Construction Kit (SEUCK) which lets you draw all the graphics, set up attack waves etc as you like. It produces various shoot 'em ups obviously, either vertically scrolling as in the original version or horizontally scrolling as in the more recent hacked version of the tool. There were some other game makers as well but generally they're very limited, generate second degree results if you even can export your work as an executable program. doctorclu
No, generally Bubsy is not much for guns, unless it is nerf guns. Actually forgot about that for a moment. Just like how Rayman had the Raving Rabbids, what came to mind was more of a spin-off, such as... Gunner the Gun Touting Ground Hog * Could be a blast. * Name I made up, still looking for the actual name of this obscure Bubsy opponent. doctorclu
And now, the moment that five of you have all been waiting for... the release of Bubsy: Kitt'N Kaboodle with all the prize modifications!! The Manual... Bubsy Manual C=64.pdf The Disk image, though I don't know why this isn't a cartridge image, it is only like 6 K.... Bubsy-c64-R05-all prizes.p00.zip Will probably modify more on the title screen, maybe tinker with the ladders on the game screen, but for now... yah!
