Thanks so much almightytodd!  I definitely wanted a name that would be intimately tied to the Atari 2600 (and 6502+variant architectures) and ZeroPage jumped out to me almost immediately. It had a great sound to the words and definitely had an association to a specific era of programming & gaming!

I love the name of this... ...was the ZeroPage concept unique to the 6502? Or did other architectures also use it?

Could it be a result of the RGB video board that I've upgraded my light sixer with? http://etim.net.au/2...lation-6switch/

I've also attached some photos of my VCS in case that helps.

Yes, James Atari is a bit special. E.g. the playfield updates are 1 color clocks slower.

Thanks to everybody out there for making today's livestream of ZeroPage Homebrew the most watched episode in the show's history!! (Yes, even more than the live unboxing of the Retron 77)

You rock, thank you so much for your continued enthusiasm and support for the show. It just keeps getting better and better because of all of you! 1f642.png

Hi grafixbmp, I haven't covered that one! We've played the Dark Chambers to Gauntlet hack but not the one made from Haunted House.

Do you have a link for that? My searching hasn't come up with a result.

IIRC the hack had some serious scanline issues. Have these been solved?

I think he meant hack of "Dark Chambers". The only other Gauntlet for the 2600 is the one released by Answer Software.

So anyway...

I thought I'd give Twitch a try. I created an account and then it offered suggestions of categories to try. I chose "Retro" and here's the channel that came up...

To get back in homebrew history, here are some old homebrews you missed so far:

  • Dark Mage (1997) (IIRC the Supercharger version is the more advanced one)
  • This Planet Sucks (1998)
  • Thrust (2000) (also: Thrust+ Platinum)
  • Crazy Valet (2000) (in combination with Jammed)
  • Gunfight (2001)
  • Qb (2001)
  • SCSISide (2001) (also: Ultra SCSIside)
  • Vault Assault (2001)
  • Yahtzee (2001)
  • Euchre (2002)
  • Lasersal (2002)
  • Space Instigators (2002)
  • Skeleton (2002) (also: Skeleton+)
  • Warring Worms (2002) (also: The Worm (Re)Turns)
  • Star Fire (2003)

  • Space Treat Deluxe (2003)
  • Climber 5 (2004)

Wait... there's a Supercharger version of Dark Mage?

Yes. Here is the link to Greg's post on [stella].

But if I read the post correctly, the 8K version might be the most complex one (not the SC version as I thought).

Great Pac-Man show!

Funny how the terrible Atari Pac-Man changed millions of minds that the Monsters were ghosts.

I believe it is because “a ghost is transparent and invisible sometimes” describes what is in Atari’s version!

Boo! Scared you!
