James Bond 007 (Beginner): 38,450 pts. [+3]. Beat the game. My very last session was the successful one in the video, so it should be near the end of the video.

 

Hey NCG, if you're open to suggestions for this round: since it's impossible to attain more points after beating the game, how about a +8 bonus to everybody who beats the game?

I've made it to the last level before, but I don't remember actually completing the game before today. Re-reading the manual, it does say, "The game ends when you complete the last mission or you lose the last craft."

 

Too bad...it would have been fun to keep going at a higher difficulty level each time through.

 

Somehow I've got my all-time high score listed as 57,500 for this game. I can't imagine how!!! That probably would have been from the 80s.

I beat the game too. So far 3 out of 3 have beat the game on beginner skill level.

I thought maybe to get a really good score you just had to miss the goal in each level and repeat it over several times. You can do this easily in all but the Moonraker level where the goal is just to shoot 3 of those large "Spinning Satellites" in the sky. For me that level is too dangerous to hang around because there are too many ways to die. But I just went through the other levels three times each and all I did was duplicate my 39,800 score...back to the drawing board...

According to the instruction manual 3,000 points are awarded for every vehicle left plus the 5,000 end of level bonus. I can't recall what my score was before the end but I do know I had cars left. 3,000 seems like a lot. I think it's actually 1,000 per car. Could easily be wrong though. Will have to pay closer attention tomorrow when I have at it again.
