Can they dominate again this year??? The league's website has been updated with this season's schedule and some uniform tweaks in the photo gallery. New ideas for uniforms are welcome. The amount of stats to be compiled would be decided by the statistician. tacrec Posted March 30, 2018 Author Share Posted March 30, 2018 2018 Season Preview It's going to be tough to top 2017's epic, record-shattering season, but the teams are ready for another season of high-speed 8-bit baseball action! Beamriders They're still not over being swept in last year's championship series, but they know they are the best team in the league with an astonishing 28-10 regular season record over four seasons. They've worked on improving their hitting in the offseason and are ready to blast off again and take their fifth straight Action Network title. Ghosts They hope to be scary again by building on an improved pitching and defense from last year. The hitters have made some adjustments to help score more runs, and they have worked on their speedy baserunning techniques. Mutants They have worked on their offense this spring, focusing on power and patience at the plate. With their improved pitching and defense from last season, they can go berserk in the Action Network. Smash They need to work on being consistent offensively. They usually have a hot first half but struggle down the stretch. Pitching and defense are also looking to improve. Snakes They've worked on improving their defense this offseason. Combined with last season's improved offense, they can be dangerous. Armada They look good again and can have another run at the Battle Network title. Their solid pitching and defense remains intact. They are coming with a more loaded offense, looking to score more runs per game. Bombers They hope to overcome a dismal 2017 with consistent offense and defense. Deadly Dogs Last season's league champions have kept their young talent and hope to kill the rest of the Battle Network again. Although it will be hard to top their 2017 numbers, their hot offense and tight defense should return them to the championship series. River Raiders Another team looking to be consistent this season. Pitching and defense look solid once again, and they are working on improving offensively. Spartans They also need to win consistently and reduce the number of runs given up. Their offense has the potential to be explosive, and they've worked on improving their pitching and defense this offseason. Mutants and Smash kick off the season this Monday at 11:30am PT! The Armada scored a run in the 4th and were dominating, but Armada's closer let the Bombers tie it 1-1 in the top of the 9th.
