BassGuitari
The Apple-1 is a fascinating system to me and I'm trying to get a more complete picture of the "Apple-1 Experience." - Users had to supply their own keyboard. IIRC Apple recommended a Datanetics something or other, but it seems like A1 owners used various different kinds of keyboards. A1s are also commonly pictured today with Apple II or II+ keyboards--did many users actually use A2 keyboards originally, or was that a solution that developed later, and if so, why? - Apple had a small handful of tape software available, according to catalogs and price listings from early 1977. How many of these were created by Apple themselves (namely, Woz)? Some appear to have come from non-employees (I think Apple's "Mini-Trek" was actually Bob Bishop's "Apple Star Trek" published in Interface Age?). - Was there ever any third-party software (as we know it) for the Apple-1? Or was it essentially "homebrew" and type-ins and adaptations of existing software (such as from 101 BASIC games)? - I understand there were a few different styles of labels for tapes sold by Apple, from generic white handwritten ones with a generic red "Apple Computer" stamp on the bottom, to the ones with a green-printed Apple logo and blanks for handwritten or stamped title, date, and RAM info, to the Apple II-style white ones with the big rainbow Apple. Is there any kind of timeline on when these were used? (I'm guessing they progressed in the order I just listed them here?) Were there others? - Owners had to supply or build their own cases, if they opted to have any at all. Was there ever any kind of de facto "standard" case (possibly a generic case for similar single-board computers coming out around the same time), or was it more or less completely up to the owner to design, build, or source a case? Were there any templates available?
Keatah
I would suggest posting these questions over on Applefritter.com. There are more Apple-1 experts there than here, if any are here at all.
