This seems to work well...

I realized that I have gathered a small pile of chargers and batteries for those old, "worthless" <12Mp point-and-shoot cameras, so I hit on the notion that they would be a great way to power handhelds, by installing the batteries and chargers as one piece inside the battery compartment. Here's some examples where it works well.

there is a bug in these forums where it won't show you the views until someone actually replies. Been that way for awhile i think?

But I think this is fantastic! So you are providing the actual 9v to power the system as well as charging the LIPOs all at once?

I think it is more like 7.3 volts, but yes, the batteries and charger are always connected, to add more juice I plug in the ac cord without disconnecting anything from the handhelds. I made the mistake of trying to replace the Nomad screen, it is undamaged but I have yet to find a cheap 3.5" screen that works, even with a video amp transistor added, the screens are so cheap that I've been through three bad ones already, I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy one of the pricier screens with fingers crossed.

The Game Gear, though, has rarely needed a recharge, running an overdrive and McWill screen.
