According to Brad's impressive write-up, the early (up to 1982) Atari CX-40 boots were soft, lightly-textured silicone, and Atari later replaced them with cheaper, harder rubber with a smooth surface and sharper edges. For Best's newly-manufactured boots, they went back to the silicone. I have some of their new boots, and they really are an improvement; they don't seem to attract as much dust, and my hands don't seem to sweat as easily while using them.

It doesn't sound like he is looking to purchases one. He is looking for what they are made of, just as he asked.

It's likely he was asking to see if he could go about making them himself because he MAY not be aware that they are readily available from Best, just an idea
