Galactus
I can't get my minty looking one I got today to work. It's pretty obvious it's the modulator and not the computer. Please tell me what the best substitutes are? So bummed out. This is absolutely the last time I ever buy anything "sold as is", unless it's a really good deal even if it doesn't work. +Vorticon
Why are you suspecting the modulator? It's exceedingly rare that these break down...
+acadiel
If you need a modulator, let me know. I probably have like 5 in storage. But, Vorticon is right... those things rarely go out, but I have see them go out; It's usually due to the wear on the connector near the console, and due to excessive movement of it. Shift838
I completely forgot Greg sold them! I would buy one from him. Always a good experience.. Reminds me I need to pick up a new 99/4a powersupply and I think ArcadeShopper sells them too..
Ed in SoDak
The audio and video wires from the console are easy to trace inside the modulator. I cut a stereo cable in half and stripped the wires to attach to these points. That way, if the modulator does end up as working, you have both methods available. There's multiple causes of no video. What made it obvious to you to fault the modulator? -Ed
aftyde
Every new mint machine I have bought on eBay was broken in some way. Best to just collect a few and build one from the best possible parts. Nice case, keyboard and so on...
