I can't get my minty looking one I got today to work. It's pretty obvious it's the modulator and not the computer. Please tell me what the best substitutes are? So bummed out. This is absolutely the last time I ever buy anything "sold as is", unless it's a really good deal even if it doesn't work.

you can make a RCA cabled jack for newer TV's.

If you need a modulator, let me know. I probably have like 5 in storage. But, Vorticon is right... those things rarely go out, but I have see them go out; It's usually due to the wear on the connector near the console, and due to excessive movement of it.

The audio and video wires from the console are easy to trace inside the modulator. I cut a stereo cable in half and stripped the wires to attach to these points. That way, if the modulator does end up as working, you have both methods available.

 

There's multiple causes of no video. What made it obvious to you to fault the modulator?
