accousticguitar
I have the Sears catalogs through 86 I believe. I can take a look in them if I remember.
+Random Terrain
Because *sigh* the copyright years on our site are the ones that are mentioned on the cart front label, not the release year. You might want to change "Year" to "Year On Cart" or something similar so people won't get confused and think it means year of release.
accousticguitar
I checked my Sears Christmas catalogs. The 1981 catalog on page 664 has 3 Sears exclusives. They all say "new" on the pictures. The 3 exclusives are Stellar Track, Steeplechase, and Super Breakout. There is no sign of Sub Commander. The 1982 Sears Christmas catalog on page 645 has 3 Sears exclusives. They are Stellar Track, Steeplechase, and Sub Commander. It does not say "new" on any of the Sears exclusive games but it does say "new" on some of the other game pics.

Cool, so two were out by Christmas 81, though it seems odd Super Breakout is listed as exclusive. Then again, if my memory serves me right, Sears did have first pick of Atari's games. Benefits to being the largest retailer in the country....at the time, they might not make it much longer at the rate they're going.

Rolenta posted that Super Breakout was a Sears exclusive for a short time. It was released in January 1982 for the rest of us non-Sears people. up2knowgood
The 1989 page has these games so far: BMX Air Master Dark Chambers Double Dragon Double Dunk Glacier Patrol Off The Wall Radar Lock Rampage Road Runner Secret Quest Universal Chaos I'm doing the pop culture stuff for that page now. Then I'll do the pop culture stuff for 1991. That page has these games: Ikari Warriors MotoRodeo Sentinel Xenophobe I'll do 1990 last since no original NTSC games were released in that year by a known video game company. And if some weird rare game pops up one day for 1990, the 1990 page will already exist, so the game will be easy to add. A random thought just occurred to me. According to the triva on the site here, Secret Quest was the last game for the 2600 in America, but the fact that you have games released in 1991 seems to dispute that. Were they only released in Canada or something?

Were they only released in Canada or something? No, it's probably because the trivia was done years ago before people started asking questions and getting answers about USA NTSC release dates. Captain_Combat
I have two slightly different boxes for sears steeplechase Rev 1, Rev 2. The Rev 2 has a hangtag and slightly different wording on the back of box
