TIPI's Chatti program

You know there are a couple of modifications I'd like to see to the CHATTI program down the road....

1) A dark blue background with white letters, or the ability to toggle through different colors yourself, sort of like TI-Writer.

2) "ONLINE" status as a different color.

3) A round table mode where multiple people could be present in one 'room' at the same time.

Although CHATTI is wonderful, you know me... I always want... MORE! :P

I'd love to see something tied into the pi so that you can get an actual email if you get msg'ed while off-line. 8D

This functionality is already built-in on the server side. You can get emails for when it's your turn on the CHESS game for example. I just need to extend this to CHATTI.

Basically I have settable flags for notifications, and a system for creating and sending email. I really need to make a web screen where you can manage your settings, or better yet, a way to do it right on the TI.

Chatti is great! I'd love to know more about how this was developed. I'm considering creating some apps. for the TIPI (similar to Chess/Chatti) but I don't really know how it works (client/server side). Any info. that you want to share/point me to would be appreciated. At this point, just want to get my feet wet. I've been out of the TI for so many years, I have to take it slowly :) My questions are very basic really. Can the front-end be an XBasic app. (thinking yes) and what is being used on the back-end (PHP, REST/oData, Java, .NET, etc.)?

CHATTI is a great program. Today I was thinking, not sure how doable it is.

If CHATTI could detect or ask at startup if you have an F18A video upgrade it could go into 80 column mode or the standard if not.

how hard would that be to do?

I imagine it's possible, the TELNET program has that option. Totally EXCELLENT idea! :-D

How hard? Dunno.

it's entirely possible, however he hasn't had time to document the procedures.. You all have to realize that this is being made NOW not weeks or months ago. Patience and all will be revealed.. in the meantime.

Basically the comms are demonstrated in basic with the Rock Paper Scissors game which is written in basic and allows you to play against another person on another TI with a TIPI it's on myti99.com

I successfully compiled it with the XB256C compiler today icon_smile.gif and that works great with TIPI too

Just have to code it, which probably will happen in the future. Stuff takes time, he's working on Chess right now.. and then on making Chatti game aware.. if you want to help code let him know at myti99.com

I need to learn how to detect the F18A being installed and how to do 80 columns. I do have a system with the upgrade and I can see what M@ did in telnet. It would also require some retooling of the display code - totally doable, and Im sure theres plenty of memory left. Ill add it to the feature list
