First Spear
Hey all. I think the latest Intellivision FAQ is still v0.7 from Larry Anderson (visible at http://www.intvfunhouse.com/faq/),is that correct? There is also http://atariage.com/forums/topic/156940-intellivision-history-very-long-read/and http://www.intellivisionlives.com/faq/home.shtml But is there one single corpus of knowledge? Thanks. First Spear
I am considering reformatting it, want to make sure I have the latest stuff. There have been quite a few discoveries in the years since it was made (I am thinking of the breakthroughs around the Tutorvision, Keyboard Component, etc.). Those who are reading this thread, can you suggest stuff that should go in an update? Thanks.

I'm trying to digitize everything to take less space and was looking for a digital copy... all I can find is 0.7 so I need to scan it. If you want a copy of my scan let me know.
First Spear
Messaging you momentarily. I had the benevolent dictators at Intv Prime communicate with Larry Anderson, and he gave them permission to do a full release of it, so they are working on collecting and updating and formatting. All extra info would be appreciated. Ultimately the reformat will make it more searchable and consumable through various means. Thanks! BSRSteve
I found a printed copy of Larry Anderson's FAQ v3.0, dated June 27, 1995, with some markup notes that Keith Robinson made.
carlsson
But are you working on a FAQ or a whitebook?

It will be a real FAQ, with common questions and common answers. Also answers to uncommon questions. Working on making it data-driven, so as new things are added (and new news is produced by folks like The Intellivisionaries), new data elements can be added pretty quickly and the FAQ updated dynamically on a schedule. Working on attribution and links to resources that are used so anyone that wants to know/learn more can get to the source info. First Spear
Stuff like this will be in the updated FAQ. The generated text is in Markdown, convertible to HTML/PDF/DocX,TXT, etc. I think there are probably 300 question/answer sets at this point. The idea is to make it super-searchable long document and also have a bot for the passively curious to just ask a question to get directly to an answer. +DZ-Jay
Wow, that's great! Is the FAQ already available?

To test, a sampling was made of section 1, section 7, and section 9. Markdown link included and PDF sampling attached. Content from the original FAQ is being copy+pasted into pairs of questions and answers. Content sourced from other places will be copy+pasted as time goes by, and the generator can run on a timer (maybe weekly) to refresh the content. Some contractors were going to work a GUI for this, but that deal fell apart so I don't know when that will be coming (I do need to get more time into The Minstrel's Legend, for real). When more content is migrated from sources, I'll re-activate the 'bot which uses the same data source as the generator. We can't have the 21st century without an Intellibot.* https://intvfaqstor01.blob.core.windows.net/content01/faqItems/Intellivision-FAQ-079.md Intellivision-FAQ-079.pdf * anyone interested in making an image of the Intellibot, PM me.
