Not impressed ... a common view on our German Autobahn.
When I'm driving on the Autobahn, I try to stay at about 140 km/h (87.5 mph), a speed that feels comfortable to me. I sometimes manage to reach 170 km/h (106 mph), but not too far, it's much too stressful, and you may quickly run into traffic ahead.
Still, with 140 km/h, you see people flying past you with a 220 km/h (estimated, 137 mph). In an interview, I think it was Tom Hanks, he said that regardless how fast you go on the Autobahn, there is at least one who goes much faster that you.
I am strongly favoring a general speed limit on the Autobahn, maybe 130 km/h (81 mph), in particular because of the extremely dangerous speed differences. But this is a highly controversial topic, and just by saying this, I might lose quite a lot of friends here..
