Atari Flashback Portable black screen

So a couple of days ago I turned on my AFP... The screen was just black, but the power light was green. I assumed it was out of battery so I charged it until it's green, then left it for a few days. Today I tried turning it on again and the same thing happens. I've only had my Flashback for less than a year... Is its life already over?

 

Edit: it turned on again after I removed and reinserted the SD card, which is weird, since even if a card was not detected, it should turn on. Nonetheless is the Portable already nearing the end of its life?

maybe the SD card is affecting it? I don't know what it could be either. Maybe contact Bill Loguidice??

Did you try it without the card just to see what it would do? I agree that it should boot up no matter if the card is in it or not. It may be dead which is a shame....

I wouldn't consider posting a question if I haven't turned it off and on at least 5 times. I did that, posted the question, pulled out the SD card, and then put it back in and turned it on. Then it worked.
