Ansel
I have a Lynx II that doesn't work anymore, and wanted to give it a shot to try to repair it. The power lite and backlight come on, the speaker makes a little pop but no display. I replaced all the caps and it does the same thing. I found out that supplying 5V to C41 'bypasses' the power section and the Lynx should come alive if that is the problem. However the Lynx is powered correctly with 5V but still not working, screen is on but nothing happens. Does this mean the Mikey chip has died, or can it be something else? If so, are these still available for a reasonable price (less than a working Lynx)?
+Stephen Moss
There seems to be a spate of posts on Lynx's with similar issues recently, to save repeating myself you might want to read this if you have not already done so as my comments on checking the reset and cart access IC's/switched power may help.
Ansel
Thank you for your help, I had seen your post that you referred to. Where are the reset and cart access IC's? How do I test them? I have the schematic but can't find where they are. I reread your post. So they are under the silver shielding. Thank you for your help.
