doctorclu
Was there ever a utility that would run programs at increased speed? Say you added it to an autoload in a boot sequence and all the programs after that would run faster?
Rybags
Not really. There's various tricks and mods that can help with speedup though. Turn off screen DMA - the default text screen gives an effective speed of about 1.35 MHz, turning off DMA brings it closer to about 1.65 MHz (you still get losses from refresh cycles, nothing much can be done there). OS enhancements - faster FP packages, better performing E: handlers around but these mainly help out with Basic and other high-level languages. Faster SIO - helps more in the realm of load/save speed. CPU accelerators - more accurately they're replacement CPUs that run at a quicker speed. But can have compatibility issues with some programs.
xrbrevin
i know its not a software solution but are you aware that lotharek sells the 'rapidus' hardware accelerator upgrade?
