Fred Olivas
Today (5/31/2018) my TT030 refuses to switch video resolution. When I try by Setting Prefrences it resets, proceeds to load then a very loud alarm sounds and I have to shut it off. Funny thing is that a demo program called Shiny Bubbles works flawlessly in Full color when I launch the demo program. I have tried all day to find a solution. Alternate key pressed when turning on computer with blank disk inserted doesn't bypass the HD so I can't test without the HD active. Any help would be very appreciated here. Fred Olivas
Answering my own post. My TT seems to be writing corrupt DESKTOP.INF / NEWDESK.INF files. Took all the desk .INF files out and started fresh. Now I can get almost any resolution but I have to manually take one of my previous saved desks and rename it DESKTOP.INF on my C : drive then reboot. Not as easy as things were before. tjlazer
Bad HD? Do disks work ok?
ParanoidLittleMan
There will be more and more problems with old computers. It must be not hard disk behind corrupt files - weak PSU, DMA chip, bad contacts ...
leech
An alarm sounds? That's odd. What kind of hard drive are you using? Internal SCSI?
